Job summary

The Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) seeks a Head Start Teacher to develop individualized plans and support social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth in 3–5 year olds. You will collaborate with the Site Supervisor and MRDC team to ensure high-quality early education.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Criminal background check in MD and surrounding states required.
• At least one year of early childhood classroom teaching preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum with guidance from leadership.
• Refer children with potential special needs to appropriate staff.
• Implement behavior plans and IEPs with team, families, and professionals.
• Guide daily activities and field trips, arranging materials in the classroom.
• Maintain a comprehensive portfolio with weekly observations and samples.
• Supervise children at all times and uphold positive behavior management.
