Job summary

Bauer Family Resources is seeking a Head Start Teacher Float to provide high-quality early childhood education across the Head Start service area. As a permanent substitute, you may be placed in different centers based on needs, ensuring continuity of services and compliance with program standards.

The role requires planning, collaboration with teaching teams, and travel between sites within Tippecanoe, Clinton, Carroll, and White counties.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education.
• Pass routine background checks.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Reliable transportation required.
• 2-3 years related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage throughout the assigned service area.
• Lead Teacher responsibilities when assigned.
• Implement lesson plans and maintain continuity of instruction.
• Develop lesson plans for long-term assignments lasting more than two weeks in the same classroom.
• Maintain safe and engaging learning environments.
• Observe, document, and assess children's progress during placements lasting longer than two weeks.
• Engage families and support school readiness goals.
• Conduct Family Conferences and Home Visits during long-term placements of more than two weeks.
• Complete required reports and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, state licensing regulations, and agency policies.
• Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
• Travel regularly between assigned sites within the service area.
• Priority placement opportunities for internal candidates before external recruitment.
