Job summary

Action pact is recruiting a full-time Head Start Teacher Assistant to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for children. The role supports the assigned teacher and complies with Head Start standards and on-site program review instruments.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A preschool CDA/TCC is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the assigned teacher in planning and implementing all duties related to the classroom, children and parents.
• Conduct daily head counts and complete attendance records and meal counts.
• Follow approved curriculum and daily schedule; assist in development and implementation of daily lesson plans.
• Monitor, document and report suspected child abuse.
• Observation, assessment and record keeping of each child’s growth and development.
• Assist in compiling and maintaining classroom materials and supplies inventory.
• Supervise arrival/departure and bus loading; coordinate with volunteers and parents.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children, families, and the program.
