Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED prior to hire.
• One year of experience in a similar field or equivalent education/experience.
• CDP or related certificate, or obtain within two years of hire.
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Valid Health Examination clearance prior to hire.
• TB Testing clearance prior to hire.
• AZ Driver’s License.
• First Aid and CPR certifications within 30 days of hire.
• AZ Food Handler’s License within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Start Instructor with implementing standards and maintaining documentation.
• Review family needs and progress monthly; coordinate with caseworker on health and social needs.
• Engage families to promote meaningful participation in the program.
• Assist with lesson planning, student assessment, and instruction.
• Observe students and support developmentally appropriate outdoor play.
• Collaborate with disabilities staff on goals for children with disabilities.
• Maintain classroom supplies and perform cleanup as needed.
• Support positive behavior strategies and conduct developmental screenings and referrals.
