Job summary

Community Care Network Rutland County Head Start in Rutland, Vermont is seeking a Substitute Head Start Teacher to join our team. The role supports preschool classrooms, delivering engaging early childhood activities and supporting children’s readiness for school.

Starting immediately, the substitute position offers pay of $21.76 to $27.04 per hour, paid training, and a flexible schedule. Prior preschool experience and an ECE background are preferred, with licensing and background checks

Qualifications

• BA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field preferred.
• Teaching License with Early Childhood Education Endorsement preferred.
• At least two years of experience working within a preschool classroom preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage.
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire.

Responsibilities

• Support Rutland County Head Start classrooms and implement engaging early childhood activities.
• Collaborate with staff and families to promote child readiness and family engagement.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and follow program policies.
