Job summary

Mt. Hood Community College seeks an experienced leader to manage Head Start and Early Head Start programs across multiple preschool sites. You will lead comprehensive planning for teaching and learning, ensure curricula meet Head Start standards, and analyze data to drive decisions that improve student outcomes.

You will develop professional learning initiatives, collaborate across agencies, manage department budgets, and supervise staff to support the College's CDFS vision and goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with children and families in an early childhood program, including at least two years as a classroom teacher.
• Minimum 3 years of lead or supervisory experience.
• Experience using assessment data to drive educational decision‑making and improve student outcomes.
• Experience working with diverse backgrounds within the College community, students, and staff; commitment to access and diversity.
• Current driver’s license, insurance, and access to reliable transportation during work hours for travel between site locations.

Responsibilities

• Leads site-level and program-wide planning for teaching and learning aligned with Head Start standards.
• Manages and monitors child observation and assessment systems; analyzes data to guide decisions.
• Designs and delivers professional learning for staff and parents in early childhood education.
• Promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion across staffing, curriculum, and community engagement.
• Oversees health, safety, nutrition, facilities, and day-to-day operations at preschool sites.
• Recruits, supervises, and evaluates staff; provides coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Manages department budget operations and participates in budget planning.
• Represents the College on local/state early childhood workgroups and builds cross‑agency collaboration.
