Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a Head Start Resource Aide to support classroom teachers and provide targeted assistance to children, including those with special needs. You will help manage daily schedules and transitions while safeguarding health and safety within the program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 90 hour child care certification required or willing to obtain.
• Experience with special needs children preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with children, parents/guardians, and staff.
• Willingness to pursue certification if not already obtained.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers in instruction and activities.
• Assist with managing classroom schedules, routines, and transitions.
• Ensure health, welfare, and safety of children in the program.
