Job summary

The Y of Central Maryland seeks a Head Start Resource Aide to work with classroom teachers, supporting goals for children in the program. You’ll assist with routines, safety, and development of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills, helping economically disadvantaged children prepare for success.

You will contribute to a positive learning environment, communicate with families and staff, and participate in training that aligns with our mission to empower communities.

Qualifications

• Interest in the well-being and education of young children.
• Some prior experience with special needs children.
• Ability to communicate clearly with children and parents.
• 90-hour child care certification or willingness to obtain.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers with instruction and routines.
• Assist in creating safe, healthy, and engaging learning environments.
• Help manage transitions and supervise students as needed.
