Community Development Institute Head Start is seeking a teacher assistant to support classroom activities, field trips, planning, and maintenance. The role may also involve kitchen or operations support, offering a path toward becoming a Head Start Teacher.

Minimum requirements include being 18+, a high school diploma or GED, and meeting ECE/CD education benchmarks with ongoing coursework until six units are completed. Training on safety and mandated reporting is provided.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must meet the listed ECE/CD education requirements and continue in the program until six units are earned.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Head Start classroom activities, field trips, lesson planning, and maintenance.
• Support kitchen or other operation areas as needed.
• Participate in trainings required by child care licensing.

Education

Six postsecondary semesters in early childhood education or child development

Continuation in ECE coursework until six units completed
