Job summary

Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG) is seeking a Preschool Teacher to deliver developmentally appropriate activities and foster growth in social, physical, and intellectual skills. The role involves collaborating with families, planning weekly lessons, and ensuring a safe, engaging classroom environment within a Head Start setting.

Candidates should possess a CDA or higher credential, with pathways through Level II–IV education credentials.

Qualifications

• Requires CDA or state-certified preschool credential or higher as Level I readiness
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with preschool teaching experience for Level II
• BA/BS in ECE or related field with experience and state certificate for preschool teaching for Level III
• MA in ECE or related field with 36+ credit hours beyond bachelor’s level for Level IV

Responsibilities

• Instruct children in developmentally appropriate activities to promote growth
• Develop and maintain trusting relationships with children and families
• Develop and implement weekly lesson plans to ensure program compliance
• Assign duties to staff and monitor classroom for a successful learning environment
• Complete and submit logs and reports documenting program compliance
• Clean and prepare classrooms for a safe, healthy learning environment
• Conduct health screenings for Head Start children
• Plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences to assess family goals
• Perform other related duties as assigned
