Qualifications

• Minimum of one year recent work experience teaching preschool-age children.
• Associate degree in child development or ECE, or related field with coursework equivalent to an ECE major and a state permit.
• Those hired without the minimum permit must qualify and apply within 60 days and maintain active as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Head Start and state preschool objectives and performance standards.
• Effectively supervise children at all times.
• Supervise, train, orient, and evaluate assigned assistant teachers and classroom aides.
• Prepare daily and weekly lesson plans and maintain records for each child.
• Maintain an organized classroom and collaborate with staff on instructional materials.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for diverse learners.
