Job summary

USD Head Start is seeking a Center Teacher to lead a preschool classroom in Vermillion, SD. You will guide 16 children ages 3–5, fostering social, emotional, and early academic skills while partnering with families and a supportive team.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with a 9.5-month term, located in Vermillion and eligible for the State of South Dakota benefits package, including health insurance and paid leave.

Qualifications

• BA in Early Childhood Education or Education with Early Childhood Endorsement or Special Education with Early Childhood specialization.
• Experience working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Lead a preschool classroom of 16 children.
• Create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Support each child’s growth through engaging activities and individualized attention.
• Build strong relationships with families and collaborate with a supportive team.
• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Located in Vermillion, SD; working hours 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
