Job summary

USD Head Start in Tea, SD is seeking a caring Teacher Aide to support a Head Start classroom serving children aged 3-5. You will work with the Head Start Teacher to help each child reach developmental milestones.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with a 9.5-month schedule (Aug 16–May 31) and benefits eligibility through the State of South Dakota. A CDA is preferred, with willingness to obtain within two years, and experience with young children is valued.

Qualifications

• CDA preferred; willing to obtain within two years.
• Experience working with young children required.
• Passion for supporting early learning and child development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in the classroom and on the playground.
• Support daily learning activities and routines.
• Assist Head Start Teacher in developmentally appropriate practices.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children.
