Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is hiring a Teacher Aide for Gardena Carson Family YMCA, Gardena, CA 90248. Under the supervision of a fully qualified Teacher, you will assist with curriculum delivery and build positive relationships with children and families.

You will help maintain proper teacher-child ratios, support licensed preschool and infant/toddler programs, and follow safety procedures and Title 22 requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; working towards an Associate's degree in Early Childhood preferred.
• CA Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or equivalent is required/preferred depending on role.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required to ensure child safety.

Responsibilities

• Nurtures children through purposeful programming aimed at achievement and belonging.
• Maintain close supervision and adhere to teacher-child ratios.
• Assist with planning and implementing curriculum in licensed preschool and youth programs.
• Promote inclusion and comply with ADA and Title 22 regulations.
• Communicate with parents and engage them as involved volunteers.
