YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a Teacher Aide at 8th Street Preschool in Los Angeles. The role involves supporting a qualified teacher, nurturing children, and building positive relationships with families. Various licensing ratios apply by age group, with a strong emphasis on safety, inclusion, and program quality.

Responsibilities include assisting with curriculum, supervising children, and coordinating with parents. Requires 18+ years, high school diploma, and ECE/CD units.

Formación

• Age 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ECE/CD units: 12 units; 6 Infant/Toddler courses preferred.
• Be enrolled in program leading to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ECE/CD (preferred).
• Current EMSA First Aid, CPR (Adult, Infant, Child) certifications; annual renewal.
• Complete child abuse prevention training prior to first day.

Responsabilidades

• Nurtures children through purposeful programming focused on achievement and belonging.
• Maintain close supervision of groups, following ratios per program.
• Assist with planning and implementing curriculum and activities.
• Communicate with parents and engage them as volunteers.
• Adhere to safety, cleanliness, and licensing regulations.
• Never sit a group of children with Teacher Aide; work under qualified teacher.
