Job summary

Neighbors In Need Of Services Inc in Texas is seeking a caring assistant to support Head Start classroom activities. You will help the Teacher with daily routines, assist with home visits, and help maintain attendance and enrollment targets.

The role requires reliability, good organization, and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings on special projects as requested by the Head Start Director.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Teacher with all regular Head Start classroom-related activities, and will serve temporarily as Teacher when required.
• Assist the Teacher with home visits.
• Performs related duties within the scope of Head Start as assigned by the Head Teacher.
• Assists the Teacher in maintaining an 85% average daily attendance.
• Assists the Teacher in maintaining the assigned enrollment quota.
• Assists the Teacher in generating the assigned non-federal share (In-Kind).
• When necessary, will be expected to attend staff training through pre-service and in-service workshops.
• Supports the efforts of Head Start families in the enhancement of their children's healthy well-being and academic success.
