Job summary

North Coast is seeking a Head Start Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing the curriculum for children, while ensuring health and safety and communication with families. This on-call role requires flexibility and the ability to work varied hours.

You will assist with daily activities, maintain records, and participate in planning meetings to support education and development in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Level I requires 12 ECE core units.
• Level II requires 24 ECE units including 12 core units.
• Level III requires an Associate Degree in ECE/CDV with 24 ECE units and 6 months of classroom experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety of children in the classroom.
• Assist with planning and implementing Head Start curriculum.
• Support Lead Teacher with instruction and activities.
• Communicate with families and document progress and concerns.
• Organize classroom materials and maintain records as required.
• Attend curriculum planning meetings and support curriculum implementation.
