Job summary

Community Action seeks a compassionate Food Services Assistant to prepare and serve nutritious meals for Head Start children. You will follow standardized recipes, maintain sanitary kitchens, and assist with inventory and ordering, contributing to the well-being and growth of families in Washington County.

The role requires English communication, a high school diploma, and prior food service experience; background checks and TB testing are part of the process. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and six months experience in a food service operation.
• Knowledge of food preparation and handling techniques.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Background checks and TB testing as required by Head Start regulations.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized recipes and proper quantities per regulations including Head Start and CACFP.
• Maintain safe, sanitary meal prep and service areas as per schedule.
• Assist with inventory and ordering of food and supplies as needed.
• Monitor children's acceptance of menu items and communicate adjustments for review.
• Store food and supplies per Community Action policies.
