Job summary

Community Action Corporation of South Texas seeks a Mentor/Coach to observe Head Start classrooms, guide staff, and implement Practice Based Coaching. You will align with CLASS domains and develop targeted professional development plans to raise teaching quality.

Responsibilities include onboarding new educators, modeling practices, and maintaining coaching records. A Bachelor's in education and Texas licensure are required, with CPR/First Aid prep within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must hold a baccalaureate degree in education or a related field.
• Three years' experience in a licensed center or public school setting at elementary level.
• Be CLASS reliable and maintain certification yearly.
• Valid Texas driver's license is required.
• Must pass PRS background check and annual physical.
• Within 30 days: Pediatric CPR/First Aid certified.

Responsibilities

• Assist educators through onboarding, observation, and coaching.
• Develop Professional Development Plans with goals and trainings.
• Prioritize training needs with program staff and specialists.
• Model effective teaching practices and provide reflective feedback.
• Ensure coaching occurs 1-3 times monthly to review progress.
• Maintain documentation: plans, notes, and activity tracking.
