Job summary

Arizona Head Start is hiring a Lead Teacher to plan, assess, and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction tailored to each child. You will mentor fellow Teachers and lead classroom management while ensuring compliance with Head Start and licensing guidelines.

The role emphasizes engagement with families to promote child achievement and support the center’s success, with opportunities for ongoing training and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, assessing and instructing based on each child’s needs and program requirements.
• Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans is required.
• Must meet state education requirements for the childcare center and licensing guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create fun, interactive learning experiences while mentoring fellow Teachers.
• Care for the social, physical, and intellectual growth of preschool children in your class.
• Take the lead on classroom management and curriculum implementation, and be expert on licensing guidelines and Head Start requirements.

Arizona Head Start provides early education for children birth to 3-years-old, parent involvement and family support, and comprehensive health and nutrition education for children. The Lead Teacher is responsible for all aspects of planning, assessing and instructing based on the needs of each child, and the requirements of the program.
