Job summary

Head Start is a federally-funded, national child and family development program which provides comprehensive services for pregnant women, children from birth to age five, and their families.

Serve as lead or co-teacher for the assigned program option site under supervision, ensuring compliance with federal standards, Vermont licensing regulations, and agency policies while maintaining a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Vermont educator’s license with early childhood endorsement preferred.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate early childhood practice and curriculum planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-teach at the assigned Head Start site.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations.
• Provide a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
