Job summary

Child-Parent Centers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Head Start center kitchen in Tucson. This entry-level, in-person role handles breakfast, lunch, and snacks using cycle menus that support preschool and toddler development.

The Cook manages food orders, storage, CACFP compliance, and kitchen cleanliness while maintaining costs within budget. The position reports to the Center Director, offers a 40-hour work week, and may require some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks using cycle menus that meet CACFP and Head Start guidelines.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and proper food handling, labeling, and dating.
• Order food and manage inventory within budgetary limits using the centralized ordering system.
• Lead and participate in meals planning and cost control; ensure safe, nutritious meals for children.
• Submit required reports and keep accurate daily records of meals served and supplies.
