Qualifications

• Eligible to obtain paraprofessional certificate issued by the State Board of Educator Certification.
• Satisfactory fingerprinting background check and pre-employment health screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparation of materials for instruction and activities for large and small groups.
• Assist with classroom displays and organization.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Eat with assigned students to reinforce family meal practices.
• Assist with basic care (teeth brushing, toileting, diapering) and health issues.
• Assist with meal planning and snack preparation.
• Disinfect classroom equipment and materials.
• Provide orientation to substitute teachers and perform basic record-keeping duties.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
