Job summary

Community Teamwork in Lowell, MA is seeking a Home Visitor for a temporary up to 6 months. The role involves ensuring compliance with Head Start/Early Head Start regulations and supporting families to assess needs and access services.

The position emphasizes collaboration with parents on goals related to income, housing, safety and education, along with promoting active parent involvement in governance and community resources.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in early childhood education, Human Services or related field.
• Desire to work with low income, culturally diverse, and at‑risk families.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficient computer skills in basic software and data collection systems.
• Excellent crisis management skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Evidence of Mantoux test, physical exam, and MMR vaccine.
• CORI/DCF review prior to employment including fingerprinting.
• Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local Head Start/Early Head Start regulations.
• Support and serve as a resource to families; assess strengths and needs and refer as appropriate.
• Design and implement curriculum with families to support child development and school readiness.
• Collaborate with parents on goals related to income, housing, safety, education and parenting.
• Encourage parental participation in home, socialization activities and community resources.
• Encourage parents to engage in governance via Policy Council and related meetings.
• Maintain accurate case records using the agency MIS.
• Serve as liaison between families and the Department of Children & Families to protect rights.
• Participate in recruitment and partner with community agencies.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and training.
