Job summary

Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties is a community nonprofit serving Williamson and Burnet counties. The Family Support Specialist helps connect families with Head Start resources, support child development, and coordinate parent involvement activities.

The role requires engaging with diverse families, coordinating with Center Directors and other staff, and promoting education, nutrition, and community support.

Qualifications

• Experience in social work or community service preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field.
• Ability to work with diverse families and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Recruit eligible families and assist with applications.
• Partner with parents to create welcoming, culturally responsive environments.
• Accompany teachers on home visits.
• Support children’s learning by coordinating family activities.
• Assist families with health needs and referrals.
• Complete progress reports and maintain confidential files.
• Plan and facilitate regular parent meetings and events.
• Lead center operations in the Center Director’s absence.
