Job summary

Family & Children’s Place seeks an experienced Vice President of Head Start to provide strategic and operational leadership for Head Start, Early Head Start, and related early childhood programs in the Louisville area.

The role oversees quality, compliance, and sustainability of Head Start programming, guiding a team of directors and managers to achieve strong outcomes for children and families. This is a senior leadership position requiring collaboration with board, partners, and HR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, social work, human services, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Head Start, Early Head Start, and early childhood education programs.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and grant requirements.
• Oversee budgets, enrollment, and grant reporting in collaboration with the Finance team.
• Supervise and develop Head Start leadership and staff across centers and programs.
• Drive program quality, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• Build community partnerships and coordinate with stakeholders to advance outcomes for children and families.
