Job summary

Innovative Network of Knowledge seeks an early childhood assistant who will help ensure a safe, educational, and supportive environment for young learners in Louisiana. The role emphasizes compliance with Head Start standards and active collaboration with teachers and families.

Candidates should have a CDA credential or be in a degree program, with preference for a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. Bilingual Spanish is a plus, and some preschool experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CDA or state certificate meeting CDA requirements.
• Enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program to be completed within two years.
• Prefer Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Two years of experience in a preschool classroom preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protect the physical and mental health and safety of children; no child left unsupervised.
• Assist with responsive care and organized learning environments aligned with Head Start outcomes.
• Assist with implementing curricula to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences in language, literacy, math, science, social studies, arts, and physical development.
• Support screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluation of a child’s progress.
• Support parent engagement through conferences, home visits, and group activities.
• Follow practices to keep children safe and report incidents within policy timeframes.
• Complete required trainings per state and federal standards.
• Maintain confidential child files and classroom documentation; keep organized records.
• Communicate child observations to teachers to address development and readiness.
• Collaborate with education, family, and related staff to address identified needs.
