Job summary

BVCAP Head Start is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to implement Head Start standards for 3- to 5-year-olds in a classroom setting, including active supervision and safety. You will support development through play, manage transitions, and collaborate with families to foster learning both at school and at home.

The role requires an Associate or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, strong communication, and the ability to work with bilingual families.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Complete and maintain annual training hour requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
• Knowledgeable in computer skills, word processing, and e-mail.
• Must have a valid license and CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor children to ensure safety at all times.
• Foster developmentally appropriate activities and outdoor play.
• Engage families through regular communication and conferences.
• Follow agency curricula and coordinate with support staff and Family Advocates.
• Adapt activities to meet individual goals as identified in IFSPs.
• Promote English language acquisition for dual-language learners.
