Job summary

Clackamas County Children's Commission is seeking an enthusiastic Head Start classroom assistant to support the teacher in delivering educational services to preschool children and their families. The role emphasizes safe supervision, PBIS-based guidance, and collaborative planning with the teaching team.

The position requires an CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent), with experience in an ECE setting and a strong ability to work with diverse families.

Qualifications

• CDA or higher in ECE preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in an early childhood education classroom or licensed center.
• Ability to work with low income families and diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with assessments and implementation of daily lesson plans.
• Maintain developmentally appropriate classroom environment and records.
• Support PBIS approaches and safe supervision of children.
• Prepare materials and greet/escort children to the classroom.
• Participate in parent events and monthly meetings; conduct screenings as requested.
