Job summary

Clackamas County Children's Commission seeks an enthusiastic assistant to support Head Start educational services for participating children and families. You will help teachers with daily lesson planning, classroom setup, and ongoing observations, while maintaining safe, developmentally appropriate environments.

Applicants should have a CDA or higher in early childhood education or related field, and experience in a childcare setting.

Qualifications

• CDA; Associates or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in an early childhood education classroom, certified childcare center, or comparable group care program.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with assessments and individualizations.
• Design and implement the daily lesson plan within the classroom.
• Set up and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Maintain records such as child observation notes, lesson plan notes, and attendance.
• Follow all Procedures for Bus Safely Protocol and ensure a safe environment.
• Provide supervision for all children and support PBIS approaches.
• Greet children and prepare materials for instruction; participate in parent Open House.
• Attend and support childcare at monthly parent meetings and developmental screenings as requested.
