Job summary

Centro de la Familia seeks an Educational Specialist to lead Head Start education services within the center, ensuring culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate learning. You will mentor teachers, support parent involvement, and ensure compliance with performance standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration with specialists, managing documentation, and leading data-informed improvements while fostering a supportive, growth-oriented team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field.
• Emphasis or experience in special education, social work, or psychology.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee education services per Head Start Act and CDLF School Readiness Plan.
• Provide ongoing training and mentoring to teachers and aides.
• Ensure credentialing requirements are met for education personnel.
• Develop staff development plans and conduct annual performance evaluations.
• Review lesson plans for developmentally appropriate content and diversity of activities.
• Coordinate child screenings and ensure timely follow-up of results.
• Analyze data from assessments and present results to families.
