Job summary

Centro de la Familia is seeking an Educational Specialist to support Parachute and Rifle centers. Under the direction of the Center Support Specialist and Education Manager, you will manage Head Start education services ensuring they are comprehensive, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate for each child's growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field.
• Emphasis or experience in special education, social work, or psychology.
• Three years of management and/or group process experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage education services in the center per Head Start Act, standards and School Readiness Plan.
• Stay current on early childhood education knowledge, assessments and screenings.
• Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and technical expertise to teachers and aides.
• Ensure education personnel meet Head Start credentialing requirements.
• Complete staff development plans and conduct annual performance evaluations.
• Review lesson plans to ensure developmentally appropriate activities and inclusivity.
• Coordinate with developmental specialists to ensure proper screenings and follow-up.
• Analyze data from four assessments each season and present results at parent meetings.
• Embed IEP/IFSP/RTI and Behavior Plan goals within the curriculum.
• Maintain accurate paper and electronic files and participate in case reviews.
• Participate in center meetings and coordinate child transitions.
