Job summary

Centro De La Familia is seeking an Educational Specialist to manage Head Start education services across Parachute and Rifle centers. You will supervise teachers, coordinate assessments, and ensure the curriculum supports each child’s development and family engagement.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, with three years of leadership experience and a preference for bilingual English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field.
• Emphasis or experience in special education, social work, or psychology.
• Three years of management and/or group process experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Physical ability for extended periods of sitting or standing, lifting to 50 lbs., and performing actions associated with caring for young children and infants.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all education services in the center ensuring Head Start compliance and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Stay current on early childhood education practices, assessments, and screening instruments.
• Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and technical expertise to teachers and aides; create in-service training plans.
• Ensure education personnel meet Head Start credentialing requirements with HR.
• Complete staff development plans and conduct annual evaluations of teaching staff.
• Review lesson plans weekly to ensure developmentally appropriate activities and inclusive curricula.
• Coordinate with developmental specialists to ensure screenings are documented and followed up timely.
• Analyze data from four assessments each season and present results at parent meetings.
• Embed IEP/IFSP/RTI and Behavior Plan goals into classroom curricula.
• Maintain accurate staff and child records; attend required reviews and meetings.
• Coordinate child transitions and ensure daily Health and Safety checklists are completed.
• Manage education resource inventories and information flow between teaching and support staff.
