Job summary

Neighborhood-House is seeking an Education Manager in Portland, OR to lead the education and professional development for Head Start and Early Head Start programs. You will oversee staff, ensure compliance with Head Start standards and licensing, and coordinate curriculum delivery and family engagement across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with at least 3 years of direct work with children and families in an early childhood setting.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate staff.
• Strong verbal and written communication, including word processing and spreadsheets.
• Experience supervising staff in a collaborative team environment.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and group Facilitation in a social service setting.
• Pass background checks and comply with regulations before hire.
• Complete required trainings like Fit for Duty and TB testing before starting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Early Childhood Site Supervisors with coaching, evaluation and accountability.
• Ensure education components meet Head Start Standards and licensing rules.
• Train staff in Creative Curriculum and fidelity of implementation.
• Oversee development of individualized education plans and family communications.
• Support safety, supervision, and data reporting across sites.
