Job summary

Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska in Craig seeks a Teacher Aide - Head Start to support the Lead Teacher in delivering early childhood education.

This non-exempt position requires a CDA credential, high school diploma, and ability to work with diverse families; responsibilities include lesson support, screenings, family engagement, and maintaining a safe, cheerful classroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDA credential.
• HS Performance Standards require CDA or equivalent; progress toward degree encouraged.
• AAS degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly lesson plans with Lead Teacher.
• Assist in screenings, observations and ILPs for each child.
• Maintain safe, clean classroom and assist with janitorial duties.
• Support mealtimes and model positive behavior.
• Attend staff meetings and support program activities.
• Coordinate transitions and small group activities.
