Job summary

The Siletz Tribal Head Start Program in Oregon seeks a qualified assistant to support developmentally appropriate preschool activities for 3- and 4-year-olds. The role includes classroom setup, daily routines, and ensuring safety and inclusivity for families from diverse backgrounds.

Applicants must have an associates or bachelor’s degree (or HS diploma with 6 months ECE experience), CDA within 2 years, and be able to obtain Oregon bus driver credentials.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree, or HS diploma with 6 months ECE experience.
• Must obtain CDA credential within 2 years of hire.
• Must obtain Oregon School Bus Driver’s Certificate and CDL with endorsements (or permit) within 90 days.
• Background checks including sex offender registry and state/federal records.
• Ability to work with diverse families and communities.
• Meet physical demands and supervise/transport children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate preschool activities.
• Provide safe transportation and supervise 20 children on bus routes.
• Prepare classroom and materials; maintain organization.
• Conduct home visits with assigned families as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in CDA training.
• Ensure bus safety and keep vehicle clean.
