Job summary

Upbring in Texas is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals for children in our care, following scheduled menus and safety standards. You will maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen and ensure nutrition needs are met for students, complying with Head Start and applicable regulations.

This full-time role requires a Food Handler’s permit and at least 1 year of kitchen experience. You’ll work within a mission-driven team dedicated to breaking the cycle of child abuse.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year of food services or kitchen experience.
• Current Food Handler’s permit/certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to planned schedules.
• Ensure adequate food quantities for teachers and children during meals.
• Maintain clean, sanitized kitchen and equipment per safety guidelines.
