Job summary

Community Action of Orleans and Genesee in Town of Ridgeway, NY is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant under the guidance of the Nutrition Specialist to prepare and serve nutritious meals for Head Start children.

Responsibilities include washing dishes, assisting in meal preparation, covering for the cook, following sanitation and safety policies, and maintaining inventory and documentation.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of sanitation, safety, and nutrition.
• Ability to manage time and coordinate with Head Start staff.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures.

• Cover for Cook in his/her absence.
• Follow Federal, State, and local sanitation policies and procedures.
• Maintain inventory of food, paper, and cleaning supplies and assist with required documentation.

Job description

Under the guidance of the Nutrition Specialist/Consultant, prepares and serves nutritious and well-balanced meals which encourage the acceptance of good foods by the children. Must be able to manage his/her own time, energy, and materials and coordinate his/her work with that of other Head Start personnel in order to function effectively. In addition, must have an understanding of the fundamentals of sanitation, safety, and nutrition.

Pay Range: $16.00-$17.50

10:00AM-2PM, M-F
