Volunteers of America LA Head Start is seeking a Co-Teacher to provide a nurturing classroom environment and support children’s social, emotional, and academic development on-site in Los Angeles. You will plan and implement curriculum for morning and afternoon sessions, collaborating with a Co-Teacher and Family Advocate to engage families in learning and development.

Required AA in ECE/CD with 24 units or related field, with experience with children; BA in ECE/CD and relevant permits preferred;

Formación

• AA in ECE/CD with 24 units, or AA in related field with 24 CD units.
• Experience working with children.
• Preferred: BA in ECE/CD with 24 units; Associate Teacher Child Development Permit or higher.

Responsabilidades

• Provide children with varied activities to develop social, emotional, intellectual and physical skills.
• Plan curriculum for morning and afternoon classes (double sessions) and coordinate with the Co-Teacher and Family Advocate.
• Integrate Head Start services into learning, involving parents.
• Maintain classroom records and submit monthly paperwork.
• Observe and assess development and set individualized goals.
• Provide a learning environment reflecting diverse backgrounds.
• Uphold licensing health and safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
