Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries seeks a Classroom Teacher for the Head Start program in Bedford, PA. The role is full-time with a Monday–Friday schedule, focusing on delivering individualized activities for preschool children and coordinating with families to support development.

The candidate will plan, implement, and monitor developmentally appropriate activities, maintain records, and collaborate with community partners to enhance the program's impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred) in early childhood education or related degree with six classes in child development or early childhood education.
• Experience working with young children.
• Must have valid PA. Driver’s license. Act 31 and 34/151 and FBI clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop and implement a program to provide high-quality services for each child and family.
• Maintain records of home visits and family contacts, services to children, and food data.
• Engage families and community partners to support Head Start goals.
• Recruitment support, including applications, income information, and screening.
• Ensure activities and materials match developmental levels and goals for each child.
• Utilize Creative Curriculum and involve family members in planning and assessment.
• Create a positive, welcoming environment for children and families.
