Job summary

LIFT Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Teacher Assistant to support the Head Start Teacher in all aspects of care and training for children enrolled in the program.

The role emphasizes development of the whole child, partnering with parents, and ensuring a safe, engaging classroom environment. Responsibilities include supervising staff and volunteers, implementing Head Start curriculum, and conducting home visits and parent conferences in accordance with program standards.

Qualifications

• Must read, speak and write proficiently in English.
• Must obtain CDA or progress toward an Associate's Degree within 18 months of hire.
• Must have First Aid and Infant/Toddler CPR certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Must pass criminal background check and maintain compliance as required by state licensing.
• Musthave reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance of classroom staff and volunteers.
• Assist in implementing Head Start curriculum and standards.
• Plan and participate in parent conferences and two home visits annually.
• Maintain attendance records, nutrition records, and confidential family information.
• Promote positive behavior using Head Start redirection methods.
