STEP, Inc. is seeking a Classroom Aide to support Head Start activities and help create a safe, engaging environment for preschool children. You will assist with routines, reinforce positive behaviors, and help with basic health and classroom tasks.

The role emphasizes dependability, energy, and a passion for child growth, with responsibilities including documentation and participation in trainings and field trips.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work effectively with young children.
• Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and work as part of a team.
• Basic technology skills, including email and online trainings.
• Bilingual English-Spanish skills are a plus.

Classroom Aide

This role is perfect for individuals who are dependable, energetic, and passionate about supporting children's growth and development. Every day brings opportunities to encourage learning, model positive behaviors, and help children build the skills they need for school and life.

What You'll Do

• Assisting with educational activities and classroom routines
• Supporting child safety at all times, both inside and outside the classroom
• Encouraging positive behavior and social interactions
• Assisting with activities such as handwashing, toothbrushing, toileting, and meal times
• Helping prepare learning materials and classroom resources
• Building positive relationships with children, families, staff, and volunteers
• Participating in meetings, trainings, and educational field trips
• Completing required documentation accurately and on time

Depending on assignment, you may also accompany children on a bus and assist with safety procedures during transportation.

Pay Rate: $15.19 per hour

Note: Schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Position follows a 182-day school calendar schedule. (Summers off!)
