Northeast Kentucky Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a part-time Assistant Teacher for Head Start to support lead teachers in delivering classroom activities, nutrition services, and daily site sanitation.

The role requires interaction with young children and families, adherence to safety policies, and teamwork with educational staff. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to manage active preschoolers.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to manage physically active children ages 3–5 (up to 50 pounds).
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, and communicate effectively.
• Must pursue/possess CDA within 18 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Assist lead teacher with classroom activities and nutrition services.
• Maintain safety, sanitation, and cleanliness of the classroom.
• Assist with toileting, health checks, meals, snacks, and cleanup.
• Greet children, parents, volunteers, and visitors in the classroom.
• Support a positive, team-based approach with staff, parents, and children.
• Communicate effectively and exercise good judgment.
• Provide transportation support as needed in line with policies.
• Complete required orientation and childcare training within specified timelines.
• Maintain active supervision of all children in your care.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Educación

High school diploma or GED

Child Development Associate (CDA) or plan to complete within 18 months
