Job summary

Crystal Stairs, Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking a CACFP Specialist to ensure nutrition services comply with state and federal guidelines under the supervision of the Health Services Manager.

You will track nutrition records, meal orders, invoices, and monitoring of meal claiming while coordinating with teachers and family services staff. The ideal candidate has an Associate’s Degree in a related field and CACFP experience, with strong communication and data entry skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in early childhood education, nutrition or related field.
• One year of CACFP experience within Head Start with detailed record keeping and good communication.
• Knowledge of CACFP Regulations, Child Care Licensing Regulations and Head Start Standards.
• Knowledge of health and nutrition principles and theories.

Responsibilities

• Assists in writing and monitoring the Nutrition Service Area Plan annually.
• Establishes policies for nutrition services with parents and staff to support implementation.
• Administers and complies with all CACFP and Head Start regulations.
• Estimates daily or weekly needs and requisitions food supplies and equipment.
• Serves as the CACFP resource for teachers, home visitors and family services staff.
