Job summary

Otero College Child Development Services seeks a Bus Monitor to assist the bus driver for Head Start children in Manzanola. Ensure a safe, comfortable ride and help children board and disembark. This role supports parent engagement and adheres to Head Start standards.

Responsibilities include following policies, documenting concerns, and promoting safety on the bus. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs, teamwork, and compliance with CPR/First Aid requirements within 30 days if not current.

Qualifications

• Experience working with preschool children.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Eligible to work in a childcare setting.
• First Aid and Infant/Child CPR current or obtainable within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver and supervise children during the bus ride.
• Follow Head Start and Colorado childcare policies and safety procedures.
• Support parent engagement and communication between home and school.
• Prepare and secure child safety restraints and maintain orderly bus area.
• Transport children's medication safely and report any concerns.
• Participate in required trainings and work as part of a team.
