JOEY Restaurants in San Diego is seeking a Head Sous Chef to lead a high-performing kitchen team and deliver iconic guest experiences. You will manage labor budgets, ensure top quality, and coach and develop teammates in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment.

The role requires strong culinary expertise, leadership, and a passion for outstanding service, with the ability to uphold safety and cleanliness standards across the kitchen.

Qualifications

• 3+ years culinary experience.
• Valid local/state Food Handler cert and California Responsible Beverage Service certification.
• Passion for hospitality with a track record of world-class service.
• Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead your team in ingredient prep and recipe adherence.
• Prepare and cook menu items per JOEY recipes using various methods.
• Maintain clean, sanitary kitchen and equipment.
• Train and mentor partners on safety and process standards.
• Recruit, develop, and retain strong team members.
• Manage in-store budgets, food costs, and labor.
• Coach the team to deliver iconic hospitality and guest experience.
• Communicate daily focus and feedback to partners.
• Follow all safety procedures and food handling guidelines.
