Saint Vincent College is seeking a Head Softball Coach to oversee all aspects of a NCAA Division III program on campus in Latrobe, PA. The role requires supervising coaches, recruiting student-athletes, fundraising, and managing program operations.

The position demands regular afternoon, evening, and weekend availability, travel with the team, and adherence to NCAA and PAC policies. A Bachelor's degree and prior coaching/leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Collegiate playing experience is required or demonstrated.
• Leadership demonstrated in prior roles or related activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct all practices, conditioning, and competition for the varsity softball program.
• Develop offensive, defensive, and pitching strategies suited to PAC and NCAA Division III competition.
• Prepare the competitive schedule, including fall and non-traditional segments, within NCAA and PAC limits.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches, graduate assistants, and volunteer staff.
• Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who fit SVC academically, athletically, and socially.
• Monitor and support student-athletes’ academic progress.
• Promote student-athlete health, safety, and well-being in coordination with sports medicine and strength and conditioning staff.
• Foster a positive team culture rooted in accountability, respect, and inclusion.
• Know and follow all NCAA, PAC, and College rules and policies; ensure staff and student-athletes do the same.
• Complete required compliance education, recruiting documentation, and certifications on time.
• Manage the program's operating budget, travel, and equipment responsibly and within college procedures.
• Lead fundraising efforts to supplement operating funds.
• Perform field maintenance needs.
• Represent the College and softball program in a professional and positive manner.
• Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director to support departmental operations.
