Job summary

Wilsonart is seeking a Night Shift Saw Operator to cut materials to specified measurements under the Foreman - Finishing. You will process material, write up orders, and support a safe, productive saw operation from 9pm to 7am, Monday through Thursday.

Candidates should have at least 1 year in cut-to-size work, be comfortable with a heavy lifting environment, and use tape measures to 16th. Wilsonart emphasizes growth, training, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, or 1 year of relevant work history.
• Experience: 1+ year in Cut-To-Size department including saw operation.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 16th inch.
• Knowledge of safety standards and following procedures.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word for basic data entry.

Job Description:

Cut material to specific measurements to fill customer orders under direction of the Foreman - Finishing. Write up and process material to be cut. Performs other tasks as required. This position is for night shift, Monday - Thursday, 9pm - 7am.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate the manifest for the material in production.
• Set up the table for the saw operation
• Make tags for cut material
• Cut material to specified measurements.
• Check and set up saw to insure it is operating safe and properly.
• Move cut material to the holding area.
• Visually inspect material to meet quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Change the saw blade and blade cover as needed.
• Performs coordinator functions and backup to the foreman.
• Manage work flow of employees and orders

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
• Knowledge of mathematics to calculate multiple cuts undefined.
• Knowledge of full size cut specifications for backers undefined
• Knowledge of computers to include Excel and Word.
• Understanding of customer specification requirements.
• Ability to read a tape measure (to 16th).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or GED, or will accept one year of relevant work history.

EXPERIENCE: 1+ years 1 year experience in the Cut-To-Size Department to include 1 year experience with saw operation (MJ).

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS Position consists of working rotating shift work to include week-ends.

ENVIRONMENT: Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights. Examples: mail clerks, material handlers and food service workers
