Base pay range

$18.35/hr - $20.35/hr

Summary

We are looking for a Preschool Teacher to join our team of caring and creative caregivers. As a preschool teacher, you will have the opportunity to impact the growth of young children and guide them through many milestones in their critical first years. Qualified candidates will possess a passion and joy for early childhood education. An energetic and enthusiastic approach is essential, and you should be comfortable engaging actively with children.

Duties

• Design lesson plans that facilitate social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Implement age-appropriate activities and collaborate with peers
• Tend to children's basic needs
• Mediate conflicts between children
• Track and communicate children's progress to parents through reports and daily updates
• Model appropriate behaviors
• Encourage communication between staff and parents
• Evaluate and improve the classroom environment to meet children's evolving needs
• Ensure implementation of center policies and philosophies
• Attend staff meetings, continuing education, and center events
• Maintain state-mandated staff-to-child ratios at all times

Requirements

At Whiz Kids, a preschool teacher must have:

• An Associate's Degree in ECE or a related field
• Clear criminal record
• Prior experience working with young children, preferably in a similar setting
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Warm, approachable disposition
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Passion for early childhood development

Nice to Haves

• First aid certification per CT requirements
• CPR certification per CT requirements
• Medication certification per CT requirements
