Join the Pickleball Movement at one of North America's premier private clubs. Desert Mountain Club — recognized as one of the top private golf clubs in North America — is home to seven unique clubhouses, each offering world-class amenities. At the heart of our Health & Wellness offerings is the Sonoran Clubhouse, a state-of-the-art facility for tennis, pickleball, fitness, swimming, and spa services. We're passionate about providing an inclusive and energetic environment for players of all levels. With the explosive growth of pickleball, we're seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Pickleball Professional to lead our program and elevate it to new heights.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering world-class, memorable services to our members through expertise both on and off the pickleball courts. Your duties include planning and executing events, lessons, reservations, and providing information, merchandise, and services that exceed expectations. You will coordinate all aspects of the pickleball program and support members and teammates at Desert Mountain. The ideal candidate is engaging, outgoing, energetic, a team player, and possesses a can-do spirit. Must have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and be available to work year-round. Pickleball teaching and programming experience are required. Experience in high-end resort or country club settings is preferred.

Requirements include:

  • PPR and/or RSPA certification
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities:
On Court:
  • Participate in all Drop-In Play sessions, including Women's, Men's, and Mixed
  • Oversee instruction of clinics for men, women, and juniors
  • Organize and lead pickleball lessons during summer and holiday seasons
  • Develop and enhance the pickleball game
  • Conduct private, group lessons, and clinics upon request
  • Facilitate drop-in and round-robin events
  • Plan and run leagues and events at Desert Mountain
  • Maintain current knowledge of teaching methods, paddles, balls, and courts
Off Court:
  • Engage members actively to grow participation and share updates
  • Improve recurrent events and collaborate with other departments
  • Assist in all facets of the Sonoran Shop as needed
  • Introduce new events to enhance member participation
  • Maintain records of players' performance, rankings, and ratings
  • Create signage and communications for events and activities
  • Promote events through calls, texts, and other communication channels
  • Use club software for bookings and scheduling
  • Be available to promote the pickleball program
  • Assist with setting up the ball machine
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • Stand and walk constantly
  • Reach, stoop, and kneel frequently
  • Push, pull, lift, and move up to 35 pounds frequently
  • Work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
